  • This house, originally built in the 1920s was remodeled throughout, including a new kitchen, all new bathrooms, a family room and bedroom.  The site was developed with a new patio, outdoor kitchen and landscape.
  •
Space for the new kitchen and family room was created by removing existing interior walls and enclosing an existing loggia.  The new stove hood and fireplace were made from cast stone, matching the material of the original living room fireplace.  Elliptical arches were repeated, matching those used elsewhere in the original house.
  •
Following decades of neglect, the goal of this project was to thoroughly renovate and remodel the interior and exterior of the house and site in a way that would improve the livability for the new owner, while keeping the improvements seamless with the original architecture.
  •
A new swimming pool, stone paving and cast stone stairs and balustrades were added to the back yard.  A new terrace at the second floor was created above a small addition for the kitchen below.
  •
All new cabinetry was custom made from mahogany.  Decorative motifs were taken from carvings in the original living room ceiling beams.
  •
Moorish tile motifs were incorporated in the master bathroom wainscot and shower.
  •
A new wood framed greenhouse was built next to the original garage and chauffeur's quarters.
  •
Details from the original front entrance were inspiration for the new cast stone fountain.
  •
Gum Wood was used for all new cabinetry, beams and trim, matching the original entry hall paneling and stair railing.  New leaded glass windows match the original windows throughout the house.
  •
Details for the new cabinetry and beams match those found elsewhere in the original house.  The design of the island legs was an adaptation of the design of the newell posts in the original main stair.
  •
New lighting and cabinetry was added to the living room.  Wood carving designs were inspiration for the new cabinetry in the kitchen.
  •
Mahogany cabinetry and limestone were used for the new master bathroom.  Space for the tub was created by enclosing a former veranda with new leaded glass windows.
  •
Formerly a sleeping porch, this room was enclosed with new leaded glass windows.  Marble tile was used for the floor and wainscot.
  •
New stucco and cast stone walls were added to the site, incorporating design elements from the original house.
